Songs aren't just a combination of sounds set to a specific time structure; they're art. Heir Monty asserts this thesis effortlessly in "Fireball," which is more of a novella than a single. The track defies categorization, sitting at the crossroads of country, alternative, and pop music. However, don't roll your eyes at the "country" descriptor; "Fireball" offers much more than most modern country tracks.

Truthfully, when I first joined GSM, I made it clear that a certain genre wasn't exactly my cup of tea. So I'm genuinely glad this track found its way to me, because I would've dismissed it otherwise. It checks all the familiar boxes, yet twists and reimagines them into something refreshingly original.

"Fireball" is like when you meet a stranger at a bar and tell them your life story after 3 (or more…) shots. You don't mind divulging all your secrets, since you'll likely never see them again. And if you do? Well, that's a problem for you to solve after your hangover subsides.

Heir Monty self-describes as "hauntcore," and I believe that to be far more fitting than any of the words I had used. With "Fireball," Heir Monty revolutionizes the possibilities we previously had for music, shapeshifting sounds simply through storytelling. It's cool stuff. Take another shot. YOLO.
