MAJKEN RECLAIMS HER PERSONAL POWER ON “RE-ENTERING”

The Swedish DIY artist, harp player, guitarist, lo-fi queen, and producer Anna Bergvall, AKA Majken, is making some noise in an indie, dream, and alt-pop way with her latest track, "Re-Entering."

Majken has been compared to Cate Le Bon, Fiona Apple, and PJ Harvey. Majken isn't precisely an edgy innovator in the way those artists are. Though she does have a nice voice and somewhat of an expansive vocal range, it's mostly not super pronounced in this single. The production is what reigns supreme, so to speak. The uptempo arrangements grab one's attention, featuring fuzzed-out guitar work and off-kilter, broken drum machines.

"Re-entering" lyrically finds Majken at a pivotal moment in her life and looking forward to a brighter, healthier future. Majken is celebrating in this uplifting single, not a victim anymore and held down emotionally by a broken relationship. "Re-Entering" is her victory leap, revealing she is no longer being defined by what doesn't serve or work for her anymore.
