RINGING BUILD FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH ON “ROSE/BUD/THORN”

Steph okay?

Alternative band Ringing has released the final single from their new album Another Cycle In The Cosmic Wash, out today, and it feels like a closing statement more than just another track.

Clocking in at just over five minutes, "Rose/Bud/Thorn" sits right on that line between heaviness and hope. It leans into the kind of emotional tension that comes with actually facing what's in front of you, the stuff you've been avoiding, the weight you've been carrying, and realizing that pushing through it might be the only way forward. There's a quiet optimism underneath it all, but it's earned, not handed out.

The track opens slowly and restrained, almost hesitant, before gradually building into something much more expansive. As it unfolds, the instrumentation grows in intensity, crashing cymbals cut through, the vocals start to rise, and everything begins to feel more urgent, more certain. By the time it reaches its peak, it's no longer questioning anything; it's pushing forward.

What makes "Rose/Bud/Thorn" land is that it doesn't rush the process. It lets the emotion breathe, with each section building naturally into the next, mirroring the shift from uncertainty to clarity. It's not about instant resolution, it's about the process of getting there.

As the final single from Another Cycle In The Cosmic Wash, it feels like a fitting centerpiece for the full release, something reflective, a little heavy, but ultimately moving toward something better.

"Rose/Bud/Thorn" is now streaming, alongside all tracks from Ringing's new album 'Another Cycle In The Cosmic Wash'.
